Listener Feedback of a Global Nature

And this one comes from Nik in the UK---

Hi Ladies, Just a quick note - I'm a male motorcyclist from the UK, and really enjoy your podcast. Thank you! I listen to a few North American biking podcasts and I particularly enjoy your insight in to the US riding scene, and some interesting stuff about bike gear. I ride mainly for pleasure, some commuting, and trips around Europe with my girlfriend. We use a Sena SMH-5, so it was interesting to hear your feedback about your system getting wet. We had some minor issues in a heavy storm in Spain last year, but that aside it's been an excellent system, and we've found it to be extremely reliable. I've just upgraded mine to newer/larger speakers and it's not only louder but also more comfortable now.

The "pink" thing is interesting. Personally, as a man I find the whole pink bike gear thing just incredibly cringey and frankly pretty insulting to women generally. The other thing is putting swirly writing or floral emblems on bike gear. It just makes me really mad. IT LOOKS TERRIBLE!!!!! Fortunately there are some good brands that don't do it, and in my experience it tends to be the more budget brands that commit these atrocities! I'm sure some people will love this kind of thing - we're all different, and sure, it's going to appeal to some people. But for me, it just smacks of some corporate marketing idiot making a misguided decision that because it's for women it must be pink. Seriously!!!

Joanne, I enjoyed hearing about your recent trip and GPS/navigation insight - I'm using a Garmin car satnav unit on the bike, but hate the fact that it won't let me input multiple "via" points, so I end up having to input loads of specific places if I'm doing a complicated route. It's slow and painful. I preferred TomTom for that very reason. I'm thinking of ditching it and using a nav app on my iPhone, so I watch this topic with interest...

Cristi, I hope your head is feeling better!

All the best ladies, thanks again for an enjoyable podcast, and thank you for taking the time to do it.

Thanks Nik for being a listener and reaching out! Always interesting to hear a man's perspective on women's gear, especially the "pink" debate. I will be sure Joanne sees this commentary and adds anything down the road with respect to GPS/navigation.  Thank you for the well wishes...I think I'm finally back to being able to exercise without re-injury. I'm looking forward to feeling the wind at my face (after cracking the visor) and taking in a deep breath on the road. -Cristi
