AIMExpo: EBR Unveils 1190RX as Hero Announces US Distribution

With a 49.2% ownership stake in sportbike manufacturer Erik Buell Racing LLC, Hero MotoCorp Ltd may only have minority interest, but how will its presence affect branding of the all American company?

EBR debuted their new street legal sportbike model, the 1190RX, to a media-filled audience at the inaugural American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) in Orlando, but the announcement was perhaps overshadowed by Hero's own of a collaboration with EBR in distributing their smaller displacement motorcycles and scooters in the US. It will be interesting to see what distribution arrangements will be made within the EBR dealership network. Only time will tell if the US market will embrace the Indian-manufactured lineup with the same enthusiasm that they hold for the delivery of an American-made sportbike.
